The last few weeks have flown by in a blur of studying and pining for home. I can't say I really did much productive with my time besides those two things, the latter being the most prominent. And perhaps not really productive. Thanksgiving was a little sad because I wasn't with my beloved parents and sisters, but I did have a good time with the aunt, uncle, and cousins, and may I just say that Aunt Nichole's dad can make the best turkey ever?! It was so perfect and juicy and tender. It was amazing. But Thanksgiving still isn't the same without homemade rolls, frog-eye salad, and macaroni salad. And games. I miss playing board and card games with my family.
This week was pretty easy, which is good because I needed a break. Monday I only had two classes, then took a test and came home to bum around the apartment. Tuesday I went on a run (gasp! My first [and only]one of the semester) and then bummed around the apartment some more. Tuesday night I went to a boy in my home evening group's apartment to watch a movie. Wednesday was more bumming, then went to dinner at a different Stephanie's apartment and then she and a few others came over to mine to watch scary movies. Thursday was spent in West Valley City, where Anja and I became best friends and played with each other all day. Friday I went to the store and then tried to get some homework done, but decided to start decorating the apartment instead. Then I decided it would be a good idea to throw a "get into the Christmas spirit" party, so I made a whole batch of cookies. Nobody showed up to the party, except the kid from my home evening group, two hours after it was supposed to start. So, he helped me build a fireplace for my stockings and then we took the cookies over to this other girl's apartment where she was having a movie night. Even though there were, like, fourteen people there, only about 1/4 of the cookies got eaten. Yesterday, Alexx and Taylor came to visit me from Lehi. We spent a few hours catching up and then went to the dollar theater to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Then I headed down to Sarah's house (of course getting lost a few times in the process). Her mom took us out to dinner and ice cream and then we played card games all night. It was great fun and I enjoyed it, but it did make me long for home just a bit more. And then today, we had church at 10, all of Wyview combined, since it's still pretty empty. Now I shall do some more bumming around the apartment until my roommates come home, and then hopefully we can decorate our foot tall Christmas tree together and make Christmas countdowns.
I cannot wait for Christmas break.
