This week was SUPER long. The classes for my major sound like they are going to be pretty interesting, but I will be doing projects a lot in all of them. English 202 (Masterpieces of World Lit) will be interesting as well, but there is a LOT of reading to be done, plus a big project, a big paper, and tests and in-class essays. It sounds like AP English all over again. And Book of Mormon will be pretty much the same as last semester except that this semester I will be able to see the entirety of the powerpoints because the room actually has a slope to it.
Work is pretty chill. It only takes, like, two hours to clean my half of the building and then Jason (my new coworker) and I work on a special project for about an hour and then just talk to each other until Taylor (my supervisor) shows up. It will get busier once baseball and softball season starts, though. Jason's pretty cool. He's from Mesa. He's a nerd like me and he's been super sheltered his whole life, except that hasn't made him socially awkward like it has some people... It's kind of cute how much of a Molly Mormon he is, and he seems to be just as clumsy as I am.
I've decided to designate Saturday as my fun day. If I work hard to keep up on all of my classes during the week (and then obviously go to work every weeknight), then I can just relax and do whatever I want on Saturdays. Take yesterday for example. I'd decided to relax on Friday so on Saturday, I had to do a project first thing. But after that was done, all I did was watch tv, play Nintendo 64 with Josh and Marley and go to a dance party. The dance party was really fun. After the first few songs where I didn't move around too too much, I looked around and realized that everyone else looked stupid when they were dancing, too, so I decided to just not care what I looked like. So even though I was still invisible some of the time and got stepped on and pushed around kind of a lot (that's just what happens when you shove 50 people in a tiny apartment) and it was really obvious I didn't have any friends in the ward because only two people said "hi" to me, I had a good time. At the end of the dance, someone fainted, which created a lot of hubbub. But she just took a breather and she was alright.
After the party, Marley and I met some of Sariah(from my home evening group)'s friends and took them to our apartment for some water before all the partiers started a round of Sardines. It turns out these boys had been the same ones Sarah had met earlier that while coming home from work. They were pretty cool, and after a riveting round of sardines that was not without its flirting, lady jackets, and eagle screeches coming from the "Sardine masters" in trees, we hung out with the boys, gave them our numbers, and set up a future hangout session that will hopefully include donuts, hot cocoa, and a hot tub.
Oh yeah, and I lost 5 pounds this week. :)
