Being Back

For some reason, this break was better than all of the other breaks I had when I was still living at home. Bryce and Camille took us skiing, which I enjoyed immensely, even though for some reason I was terrified out of my mind for the second half. We played a lot of games, had Nancy Drew and Sims contests, ate lots of goodies, I worked out semi-regularly, had a Harry Potter marathon, and I got to spend some quality time with my family.

Someone (actually lots of someones) once told me that although you can’t wait to go home for break, after a little while you are dying to go back to the independence you have at college. Not for me. Break was wonderful and I really had no desire to come back to school. But life goes on. So, for the second time, I choked back tears and squeaked out another goodbye to my mother. But this time I got on a plane and was travelling all day with a delayed flight and lots of turbulence.

The ride back with Uncle Rich was nice. The truck started up quickly. The radio played good songs the whole ride home. When I got to my door, Marley and Sarah had posted a welcome home note to it, but Marley was already asleep when I came inside and Sarah was getting ready for bed. I unpacked all of my things and went to sleep gratefully. Surprisingly, I had actually missed my bed here- it was more comfortable than the one I slept in as a guest at my house (weird, huh?) and I especially missed my pillows.

I got home at, like, 10:45 and had an 8 o’clock class. I dragged myself to it (luckily Marley also had an 8 o’clock class and drove us to school) and learned that it is a research class, something I had not been expecting. Then I went to Book of Mormon. Then I bought the rest of my books at the bookstore. And now I’m trying to get the stupid internet to work, like I have been ever since I got back from school at, like, 11:30.
